Emery Wheel – Vintage
In 1873, Sven Pulson invented a grinding wheel that was much more efficient than other mechanisms of its time. Frank Norton patented his design and began manufacturing them early after that. The wheel is made of sandstone and used to hone a fine edge on any items...
Laundry in the Early Years
On display at our museum is a selection of items that were used in various phases of the laundry process. Included is a galvanized wash tub, an early scrubbing board and ironing board, Also on the ironing board is an vintage iron.
Pressure Cooker
A pressure cooker on display at our museum. They were first introduced by the French Physicist, Denis Papin in 1679. Internal temperature can reach 266 degrees Fahrenheit and was called "Papin's Digester" after the inventor.
Pequot School North of End of Town
One of the first schools in what is now the City of Pequot Lakes. Established 12-1-1896, it was located at the north end of town at the location that was at that time referred to as "Frog Town".

Here is a photo of what was "Pequot" in the early 1900's. It is taken from a vantage point looking northwest. The Hotel Pequot and the top portion of Thurlow Hardware is visible. Both were located on what is now Front Street.

Chris Knutson
Chris Knutson, a long time resident and contractor in the Pequot Lakes Community, One piece of his various equipment was a 1940 Chevrolet Cab Over truck used in this picture to move a silo.
