Ingram’s Mill – Logging Operation

Photos

The following is a picture of a logging crew that was taken around 1916.  They were employees of Ingram’s Mill which was located at the north end of Sibley Lakes near the DNR boat landing.  Pequot Lakes was the scene of extensive timber harvesting activity in the early 20th century.  Pequot Lakes was a stop for the train cars that loaded the logs and took them to various mills and lumber yards.   A dam was located at the south end of Mayo Lake as it emptied into Mayo Creek.  It controlled the water levels for the logging industry on Sibley.  Rumor has it that there is a pile of sawdust in the middle of the north section of Sibley Lake directly west of the DNR landing.
