Sartwell Gas Station

Sartwell Gas Station

The Sartwell Gas Station was located on the southwest corner of what is today the intersection of Mail and Rasmussen.   (4 Way Stop).  Originally built as a Standard Station in 1923 by J. Atwater and Ben Anderson, it was purchased by George Sartwell in November of that year.  The station remained at that location until 1953.  He moved his family here to Pequot Lakes shortly after the purchase.  (Information courtesy of “Project Centennial”.
