Pequot School North of Old Dump Site

One of the first schools in what is now the City of Pequot Lakes. Established 12-1-1896, it was located at the north end of town at the location that was at that time referred to as “Frog Town”.

Here is a photo of what was “Pequot” in the early 1900’s. It is taken from a vantage point looking northwest. The Hotel Pequot and the top portion of Thurlow Hardware is visible. Both were located on what is now Front Street.
